Womens Bike Clearance Sale 2009.
The Avail Advanced is designed to suit a woman's torso, and you can tell. The bike just feels great. The geometry provides a comfortable riding position, not stretched out struggling to apply the brakes or feeling that discomfort in the lower back or neck. The shorter top tube allows a relaxed riding position, so you can cover lots of kilometers and still feel fresh.
The Advanced frame feels great when you have to climb a hill, it just makes it so much easier. The Avanced frame transfers the power so much more efficiently, that it feels as though you have suddenly got stronger, and yes it is that noticeable. The handlebars have a shallower drop, and allow a more comfortable, controlled position when braking or pushing hard.
The Mavis R-SYS Premium wheels are fitted with a slightlty wider Michelin Pro Race tyre, which not only offers low rolling resistance, but provides additional comfort by soaking up some of the road vibration. Speking of this I have not covered the smooth ride of the carbon frame. The combination of carbon fibre to soak up the vibrations, great frame geometry to allow a relaxed riding positiona and the light, but very strong wheels with fatter tyres allow much longer rides without suffering the fatigue that you may experience on a lesser bike. It really is a joy to ride.
Because it has Dura Ace running gear, the bike changes gear like a dream. The brakes provide excellent stopping power, with m a minimum of pressure. The gear ratios provide a low range for steeper hills and smooth changing through all the ratios, but this can be altered to provide an even easier gear range if required.
The feel of the bike really is hard to describe, why not come and see for yourself. Absolutely no obligation (or pressure).
RRP is $8,999.00, currently on special at $4,999.
Giant's new Defy Alliance 1 offers the benefits of aluminium (light-weight and stiff), together with the advantages of carbon fibre. Fitted with Shimano Tiagra 18 speed gears, Shimano cranks and hubs with Alex rims, it will deliver years of comfortable recreational riding. Save $700, Now $1,299. Limited stocks available.
.If you want a fast light, off-road bike, the Anthem Xw is hard to beat. While it has only 4" travel, that is more than adequate for the "average lady" whoever she is. My point is that the light weight and excellent control are generally going to be of far more value on most trails around Melbourne. The 4" travel will give plenty of dampening for most women as they generally weigh less than the "average guy". The Maestro system is renowned for it's progressive dampening, so unless you hit really hard, it will soak up the impact and you are unlikely to "bottom out". If you hit that hard it is usually an error of some magnitude and you probably would have had a hard time of it anyway. Overall this bike is such fun to ride, it really accelerates like a hardtail, but is so controllable that it inspires confidence, it certainly will improve most peoples riding.
I haven't mentioned the equipment. Shimano hydraulic disc brakes, have a progressive, controllable feel. You can stop really quickly when required. The combination of Shimano Deore / SLX provides accurate trustworthy gear changing, so there are no nasty little surprises just when you didn't want them. The gear change is light and precise, so it is a pleasure to use. The wheels are light and strong, made by Shimano.
With Fox suspension front and rear, and with the brilliant Maestro system, the bike handles superbly. As I stated earlier it is unlikely that most of us would exceed its limits. The Fox 32 F100 RL's come with lock-out so you can get the utmost performance out of the bike. This really is a great bike, especially if fast is a desirable feature.
