NEW! Latest 2012 Model

2012 Giant Roam XR W

Price is just $999

There are a large range of female specific bikes available from Giant, as they have been at the forefront of the movement to get more ladies riding bikes, and recognised that in order to succeed they needed to build the bike to suit the lady rather than expect the lady to adapt to the bike. Hybrid bikes have been a staple of the bike market for many years now, evolving into the fairly staid, comfortable style of bike like the Giant Cypress. Fantastic for many people who's comfort is the main buying criteria. But some people want something a bit sportier, but still with 700c wheels for speed and widish tyres for stability. A bike that is pretty fast but is rugged enough to handle some trails and paths. Something like a cross between a Cypress style hybrid and a Cross City style flat bar road bike. But not one that will make them look like a grandma.

Giant have recognised the growing interest in this style of bike and for the 2012 range have introduced the Roam range of bikes which will fill this void very nicely. The Roam is a bike that may well spend most of its time on road as a commuting bike, but will prove to be far more comfortable than the low posture positioning required from a road bike and yet not all that much slower. Road bikes are great for speed and distance, but if you like to ride on trails and dirt once in a while, the narrow tyres of a road bike aren't that suitable. Whereas the Roam has the perfect mix of stability, rugged durability, sporty riding position and can even be a bit of fun if you consider that it isn't all that much different from a 29er mountain bike. Just with narrower tyres.

Such a versatile bike, the Roam rides well on roads and can take curb jump every now and then as well as some slipping and sliding if you push it hard on the cycle paths. Giant have done a really good job selecting the most suitable components, with 700c wheels and tyres that are wide enough with some tread for average trails, but narrow enough for good road speed, the Roam is a bike for both worlds of cycling and with 3 sizes in the ladies range, the Roam will suit the riding situations and needs of many riders. With 27 speed gearing the Roam really is a go anywhere bike and could also be considered as a pretty good touring option.  Not for hardcore mountain trails. Not for racing along Beach Road. But perfect for that in between riding many of us do. Some off road, some on. Some slower riding but also times when it's fun to go a bit faster.

The womens Roam XR is a lightweight, fast, hybrid style bike that has 27 easy to use gears, which will be "just the ticket" for many ladies who occasionally "feel the need for speed", but need to get it from the same bike they ride on a day to day basis.

2011 Giant Transend 1W.

Now on sale at $549, marked down from $699!2011 Giant Transend 1W

Feel like having a bike where you can strap a picnic basket to the back, cruise on through the bike paths on a sunny afternoon, just to find a beautiful patch of grass to have a lunchtime feast? Or maybe ride to work with your bag and a change of clothes? A bike that is light, easy to push and very reliable?
If that's the sort of bike you're looking for, the Transend 1W is perfect.  As the the highest model in the Transend range, the Transend 1W has great features like alloy fenders and rack and a comfy Giant saddle. It has an ALUXX alloy frame which is a technology designed by Giant to absorb road shock, while still being rigid enough for quick responses in steering and braking etc.  The gears are Shimano Alivio, which are actually used on most upper level recreation bikes. Alivio gears offer a wide gear range, suitable for any riding, whether in hilly or flat areas. So on the Transend 1W, this will allow you to temporarily leave the path and go on a more off-road adventure, without having to worry about your bike's ability to cope!  As well as this, the brakes are Alloy V brakes which are known for efficiency and reliability. They stop well in all conditions, with little pressure (or skill) required.
You are probably starting to see why the Transends are an ideal bike for commuters or simply people looking to cruise around in style with the occasional adventure!

Schwinn Cream Ladies Bike.

Price is just $599!Schwinn Cream

I'm sure you will agree, the Schwinn Cream Ladies bike looks great. It has a classic ladies bike appearance. The colours remind one of the 30's. It is designed to replicate the old traditional ladies bike, complete with guards and rack. Even the colours look the part. It is all beautifully colour co-ordinated, with the decals perfectly matching the colour scheme. Up close the name badges and decalling are again typical 30's, it is a nostalgic bicycle and will be a talking point whenever you take it out with a group of cyclists, or even to the local shops.
It isn't all looks though, as the riding position is so comfortable. The swept back handlebars, while certainly not suitable for racing, are perfect for a cruise along the bike paths in blissful comfort. This bike does not require a bent over, ergonomically efficient riding position, it allows you to sit up and take in the scenery (maybe even enjoy yourself a little.) The saddle is designed to suit the upright riding position, and not only has soft cushioning, but has a sprung base to cushion out any rough surfaces that you may encounter. Even the grips are made of dual density rubber, which means they are strong, but soft where the palms contact to provide added comfort.
It only has 3 gears, and they are built into the rear hub, as in earlier times. The advantages of this system, are that the bike can have a fully enclosed chain guard to prevent harm to your clothing, and you can change gears regardless of whether you are moving or stationary. They are simplicity itself, and the shift action is as light as a feather, so there is minimal strength required to change gears. Of course the bike comes with colour co-ordinated mudguards, and a lovely chrome plated carrier (with a sprung top to hold your goods). The stand is a good solid chrome plated unit that is integrated into the bike frame for a neat appearance.

2011 Giant Suede City W.

Now on sale at $599!2011 Giant Suede City Ladies Comfort Bike2011 Giant Suede City W Comfort Bike

This is just one of those awesome bikes where you can have everything on your bike. The Suede City is very similar to last year's model, but with a couple of upgraded features.
This year's Suede City has the Shimano Nexus 7-speed hub. The internal gear hub means that the gears are inside the hub and therefore and less likely to get damaged, and also makes the bike look a lot neater. The forks have been upgraded to RST Sofi forks with 50mm travel (how far the suspension forks compress). This can be adjusted to suit your own preferences though of course. The Tektro "V" brakes are very common because they are a very reliable and efficient braking system. Plus! Thebike comes with all the cool bits like the fenders, rear rack, chain case (prevents the bottom of your pants getting caught in the chain and ruined) and of course, a super-comfy saddle with suspension!
The riding position on the Suede City is quite upright which can be suitable for slower, longer rides, or just if you have a back-problem that makes it painful to bend forward while riding.  This year Giant have also given the Suede City W two cool colour schemes; white and green (shown below) and also silver with purple.

The Townie 3spd ladies comfort bike.

Price reduced from $979 to $599. Electra Townie Comfort Bike

Schwinn Jenny Ladies Bike.

Price is $549!Schwinn Jenny

"Love this bike, best bike I've ever owned and worth the price. Rides comfortable and you sit up-right, no hunching over. Steering is easy and manoeuvrable. This is the type of bike I've wanted for years and though [$549] seems like a lot especially during these hard economic times, I went for it. It will pay for itself in time by getting me out there and exercising and improving my health."
This customer review really says it all. The bike is great!
The Schwinn Jenny has classic styling, and is unlike any regular ladies bicycle. This bike is often chosen simply because it looks so good, but a short ride will quickly demonstrate that there is more to this bike than just great appearance. Because of the traditional ladies style frame, the rider can sit quite upright, in a very comfortable riding position. The steel frame is quite light, and has plenty of clearance for easy mounting and dismounting. The mudguards are colour co-ordinated as is the protective chain guard, which will prevent any damage to your clothing. Mudguards that are fitted as standard equipment are usually better mounted than add on mudguards and these are no exception. They have an excellent mounting system, so that the guards stay firmly fixed. The chrome carrier has a spring clip to secure items to be carried, and straps can be added for additional security.
It only has 7 gears, to keep things nice and simple. No more multiple gear levers to manage, just one simple, light action shift lever. The brakes are neatly mounted and the whole package is designed to be simple to operate. Just imagine cruising along the bike paths on this bike at a nice leisurely pace, nothing to worry about, but taking in the great scenery and thinking about whether you will have a nice treat with the latte. The tyres have a tread designed to give good adhesion on paved surfaces, without unnecessary additional tread to slow you down. Naturally the saddle is soft and comfortable. The base has a spring system to remove the jolt if you hit the occasional pothole. Overall the Schwinn Jenny is a very pleasant bike to ride, and I'm sure you will agree it looks great. Come and have a look, and take one for a free test ride.

2012 Giant Trailglide 1

Price is just $499

The Giant Trail Glide is a bicycle built for comfort. The bike is based on a mountain bike, but fitted with tyres that have less rolling resistance, so it is easier to push. The front suspension gives a comfortable ride, as it irons out most of the bumps and vibrations. The saddle sits on a supension seat pillar, which has a compact suspension unit built into the post, to remove the shock from any potholes (or gutters if you must).

The saddle itself is a delight. It has a spring base supporting a gel cushion, then covered in a well shaped soft fabric to prevent chafing. Giant have gone to a great deal of trouble to ensure your cycling comfort. The bike itself is simple to operate, with a Shimano gear system that changes gear easily and accurately. If you wish it can be simply left in a gear range that you find easy, there is no need to use the gears if preferred. If you prefer to use the gear system, it has a wide range so it will comfortably keep pace with the traffic or climb the steepest of hills, there is a gear to suit vertually any terrain. The brakes have a light action and the bike can be stopped with minimal pressure, it really is a case of using just one or two fingers to stop the bike.

The whole bike has been designed with ease of use as a priority. The appearance of the bike is great. The paint finish is called "Diamond Tough" and is the same process used on some BMW cars. It is extremely durable and resists chipping, but also retains its new appearance for several years. It does not get that old look about it after a few months out in the weather. As most of the fittings are aluminium or stainless steel, nether of which will rust, again the bike looks great for longer.Well, there you have it, if you like the sound of this bike, you should come and have a free test ride, to see whether you would like to buy one.

2011 Giant Via W.

Price is $4992011 Giant Via W Comfort Bike

The "Via" is a new bike to the Giant range for 2011. This range is part-way between the Suede and the flat bar road bike. You'll find that the Via W has been made for comfort, but designed so that you are not sacrificing "rideability" for comfort. This bike is still light and easy to push around, but has been decked out with the comfort features like comfy saddle and upright riding position. It also comes with fenders, a chain guard and a front basket (all matching the colour scheme of the bike of course) and has a low standover frame for easy mounting. It has alloy double wall rims (mean they are reinforced with two walls of alloy rather than one) and dual pivot caliper brakes that are often found on racing bikes.  Unlike the Via S, this one has an 8-speed SRAM gear system which does improve the quality of the ride. I think we all know what it's like trying to get up steep hills on a very low gear - it's gets very tiring, very fast! So with some gears on your bike, you can get places faster and with less pedalling. This bike also looks amazing with the black paintwork and the white detailing on the front.

2011 Giant Suede W.

Price now only $499.2011 Giant Suede Ladies Hybrid

The Giant Suede is much the same as the Suede City, with just a couple of small differences. The Suede W features the RST Sofi forks with 50mm travel (compression of the suspension), which makes for a very comfortable and smooth ride. The Shimano Tourney drivetrain in slightly lower quality that the Shimano Nexus gears of the Suede City, but still an excellent system. The Tektro "V" brakes are used because they definitely have a reputation as being reliable and efficient. The hub is a Shimano rear cassette. The gears on this bike are not internal, which does make them more susceptible to damage if the bike is dropped, but also makes them easier to fix. The Suede still comes with the bike rack, fenders and comfort cruiser saddle (made just for women). Plus the frame is a low step thru frame for easy mounting.
Overall, the Giant Suede is just a super-comfy, reliable, cruisy, sturdy comfort bike... get the picture?

2011 Giant Trailglide 1W.

The price is $499!2011 Giant Trailglide 1W

Are you looking for a mountain bike but still wanting the comfort of a hybrid? Well, you've landed on the right bike.
The Trailglide was designed for exactly this purpose. It's actually a hybrid that has been made into mountain bike. The frame is a low standover frame for women to make it easier to get on and off. The frame is ALUXX alloy which is a very specifically designed frame popular with the Giant models for 2011 because of it's amazing ability to soak up the shocks from the road, making for a much more comfortable and smooth ride. This year's Trailglide has gone to the RST Capa forks with 80mm of travel (distance that the suspension forks can compress). RST stands for Rapid Suspension Technology, which is the company that designs these forks. This particular kind of fork - Capa - was designed for off-road riding along mountain trails where the bumps are not too massive and strenuous on the suspension. It's a lightweight fork so it doesn't add too much weight to your bike and the 80mm of travel will really help to absorb those road shocks. As well as that suspension, there is also extra suspension in the seat pillar which is handy. The seat pillar is adjustable so we can make it exactly the right height for you and the Unity comfort saddle is female-specific and is a really squashy saddle to protect your "toosh" while riding. Overall, it's a great option for a comfortable mountain bike.

Giant Cypress 2W.

Now on sale at $499!2011 Giant Cypress 2W Ladies Hybrid2011 Giant Cypress 2W Ladies Hybrid Bike

The Cypress range is definitely our most popular range of hybrid bikes for men and women. The Cypress 2W is the highest-level Cypress for women. Let me explain why this bike sells so well... To start with, the bike has an ALUXX alloy comfort frame which has been specifically designed by Giant for comfort bikes because it absorbs road shock very well. But not only does it do this, the ALUXX frame is very rigid which provides very precision steering and lots of stability. There's nothing worse than going flying along a bike track and finding yourself in a head-on with a tree... this frame definitely will help you avoid that!!
The suspension on this bike is another asset that should be noted. The suspension this year has been changed to RST (Rapid Suspension Technology) Neon forks with 60mm travel and Lockout. Now, what does all that mean? Well, the Neon forks were designed specifically for urban commuting and fitness. It's lightweight but still has the travel that you need to make the ride smoother (travel is the distance the suspension can compress). Plus! It has Lockout. So what that means is when you are going downhill, suspension is very handy, but on an ascent, suspension can take power out of your pedalling. Lockout is a feature whereby you turn a knob on the forks and the suspension "locks out" so you can get the most power from your pedalling. Then once up that hill, you just turn the knob again and suspension is back on! It's very handy while riding. None of the lower level Cypresses for women (or men) have this feature and this alone is worth paying the extra $100-200 for!
As well as all that, the gear system is Shimano Acera/Altus/Tourney. This group provides accurate shifting with less pedalling power loss, strong braking power and excellent braking efficiency for precise speed control. The Alloy "V" brakes are found on most hybrid and mountain bikes because they are reliable and efficient. The bikes also comes with Vittoria tyres which definitely have a name for themselves. The way Vittoria tyres are made is very specific and results in them having lower rolling resistance, greater flexibility and comfort and less weight. And just to top off the bike, it has a Giant Unity comfort saddle for women with a suspension seat post. Now if that doesn't make you want to at least try this bike, then I don't know what will! Just take this baby for a test ride in our shop... you'll see what I'm talking about!

GT Nomad Sport Women's bike.

Price was $699, now just $499!GT Nomad Sport White

Lovely women's bike. It allows the rider to sit relatively upright if desired, but if you prefer to work harder, then the stem can be adjusted to give a more efficient riding position.
The saddle is bliss, just perfect. It is plush, just the right width, and has deep luxurious cushioning. Certainly not right if you wish to compete in an "Iron Man", but for those of us just wishing for a bit of exercise without lingering pain for some time after, then it is great. Of course the saddle is mounted on a suspension seat pillar to cushion out the larger impacts, that would be too much for the gel saddle. Overall it is plush and comfortable. Oh, and the grips. Little thought of, but really important. The main contact areas when on a bike are the grips, the saddle and the pedals. Lots of attention may be paid to the saddle, but often the grips are forgotten. The GT has lovely soft "dual density" grips which absorb a lot of the shock that would normally be transmitted up through your hands and wrists. As I said a small detail, but it adds a surprising amount of comfort. Pedals have a rubberised grip area, so that your shoes do not slip off, no matter what the conditions. And they have just a little padding......
The appearance is great, with a very attractive white high gloss paint finish, with silver decals and highlights. Looks great.
Of course we better cover the rest of the practical aspects. The gears are Shimano Alivio, and designed to be light in the action, and simple to operate. It has a wide range of gears, so no matter where you ride there is a selection of gears that will be suitable. The brakes are very effective, and again require little pressure to operate. They are quite progressive, which means easy to apply gently or, if required rapidly bring the bike to an immediate halt.
If you wish to fit a basket, rack, mudguards, drink bottle or a host of other accessories, there is provision for them on the bike.
Great bike, well thought out (and looks great!).

2011 GT Traffic 3.0w Ladies Flat Bar Road Bike

The retail price is $649, on special at $449.

2011 GT Traffic 3.0w Ladies Flat Bar Road Bike

The GT Traffic 3.0 Women’s hybrid bike represents a new line of thinking for what was previously an arena dominated by upright, comfortable, but more recreationally paced bicycles. The Traffic 3.0 is instead a bike with those fundamental features people look for in a ladies hybrid, but with a bit more strength and speed then can be found in many other hybrid models for the same price.

This bike of course comes with all the necessary mounts for racks, mudguards and bottle cages, as well as a provision for disc brakes in the future. Also to be expected is the lightweight alloy frame and fork, making for a lighter than average hybrid with responsive steering for those of you looking to navigate traffic on either the road or the bike paths.

But the Traffic 3.0 really comes into its own with a few features not found on many other bikes, and ones that will make you glad you chose the Traffic. Rubber bumpers across the top tube of the bike make leaning your bike against a pole to be locked a far more pleasant experience.

In addition, the patented 'Pinhead' skewer systems mean a unique key is used to take your wheels and seat post on and off, making the opportunistic theft of such items a thing of the past (but don't worry if you lose both the keys, replacements are available!). Last but not least are the reflective decals and stickers on the bike, making it just that more visible when you need to be seen.

Thus, if you are looking for a bike capable of handling bike paths, bike tracks and the road with ease, all the while making your ride as pleasant and hassle free as possible then the Gt Traffic 3.0 Women’s bike is for you!

So rather than paying $150 for all these extras with a Cypress, you just get it with the bike.

2012 Giant Transend 2

Price is just $449

Would you like a bike that is inexpensive, but light, comfortable and easy to use? The Transend 2 could well be the bike for you. The bike is exceptionally light for the $500 price tag. The gears are easy to use, requiring only very light pressure to change and the shift is precise, not at all what you might expect from an inexpensive bike. There is a great gear range, there is a suitable gear for virtually any terrain, whether you are climbing Mount Buffalo or cruising along the bike track at St Kilda, you can easily find a suitable gear. The riding position is upright and very comfortable, not at all suited if you wish to race, but for commuting or recreational riding it is ideal. It has a broad cushy saddle, designed to sit upright (or nearly so) the handlebars are set up so your hands rest on the bars, rather than have to carry your weight. Much easier on the wrists and hands. Because you sit upright you can see everything around you, so its ideal for scenic bike tracks or negotiating city traffic. This bike is fun to use, sure its no high performance machine, but most of us don't require that, a comfortable bike that is light and easy to use is generally more important. 2012 Giant Cypress 3W.

Price is just $3992011 Giant Cypress 3W Ladies Hybrid Bike

As one of the most popular bikes in our range of Hybrid/Comfort bikes, the Cypress 3W has a lot of great features to offer, at a very affordable price.
As with the other hybrid bikes, it has the ALUXX alloy comfort frame, made to absorb shocks from the road. The suspension has been upgraded from last year's to the RST (Rapid Suspension Technology). Soft forks with 50mm travel. This suspension is made for fitness purposes and for riding around built-up areas on paths or roads. The travel is typically set at 50mm (distance of compression in forks), which is less than the Cypress 2W (next level up), which can be adjusted.
The Cypress 3w  has a very comfortable saddle which sits on a suspension seat post (as well at the suspension in the forks) to add to the comfort. The Shimano Altus/Tourney gear system provides reliable and precise shifting with minimal effort on the part of the rider. And, of course, the brakes are Alloy "V" brakes. Reinforced rims add to the strength of the bike, and means that the bike is less susceptible to damage from bad road surfaces. This bike is the cheapest model you will find in our standard hybrid range that still has the front suspension. It really is a wonderful, reliable and comfy bike. After you ride it, you will be able to see why this model is so popular! Come and have a test ride of one today.

GT Nomad Women's Bike.

Price was $489, now just $399!GT Nomad Women's Mountain Bike

The GT Nomad is an inexpensive, yet comfortable ladies hybrid bike. The bike is ideal for cruising bike paths or even riding to work. While the GT Nomad is far from the best ladies hybrid bike available, the Nomad is a comfortable, reliable bike at a great price. It has front and rear suspension, to iron out the bumps. The front suspension is in the forks, a simple unit, that has proven to be reliable and requires minimum maintenance, even when left unused for months at a time, or used on a daily basis (suspension is usually better when used regularly). The rear suspension is in the seat pillar, and has an adjustable spring mechanism that absorbs and dampens out the shock from most road shocks. Both work well, especially combined with a nice plush sprung saddle and gel ergonomic grips.
The emphasis is obviously on comfort, but the bike is also designed to be very easy to use. The gears are simple, and change well. While it only has 21 gears this is more than adequate for all but the most demanding recreational riding. The range is adequate to tackle the steepest hill, or cruise along at high speed with a favourable breeze behind you. The brakes require very little effort to stop the bike and most riders find them extremely easy to use. They feel very controllable and inspire rider confidence. The seating position is very comfortable. The bike has been designed to sit you upright, with your back quite straight. Easy on your back and neck, especially with the sprung seat pillar and saddle. The riding position can be adjusted according to your individual preference, and this can be done quickly and simply in just minutes. Don't let the price put you off, I know the price is low, but the bike is discounted by $150, it is not that the Nomad is poor quality, we simply need to clear some of the older models.
By the way, this bike is surprisingly light-weight, so it is a cinch to lift it onto a bike rack, or in some cases carry up stairs.

GT Traffic 4 Women's Comfort Bike.

Price is just $349, marked down from $499.2010 GT Traffic 4 Womens Comfort Bike

The GT Traffic 4 is a great bike if you want something that is light and easy to push without spending a lot of money.
This bike is designed to be comfortable with a riding position that can be adjusted to suit the riders preference. You can go from relatively upright to leaning forward in a more aerodynamic profile, as you wish. The frame is quite light and because it has no suspension the overall weight of the bike is kept well down. This will not be ideal if you have rough terrain to traverse, but if like most of us the requirements are more like a ride along the local bike paths and some local trips for shopping or visiting, then suspension is not needed.
The bike has 700c wheels (larger diameter) and has good quality, puncture resistant tyres that are wide enough to give good grip, even in gravel or on rough tracks. The tyres also have a bit of tread to give good adhesion when needed, but not so much that the bike is hard to pedal. Both the larger wheels and the tyres contribute to the ease with which this bike can be pushed along.
Top it off with a nice comfortable saddle and a price tag that is very friendly and this makes an ideal bike for city cyclists on a limited budget. And it looks great!

2011 Giant Trailglide 2W.

On sale for $399!2011 Giant Trailglide 2W

The Trailglide 2W is essentially the same as the Trailglide 1W... minus the $120. The only differences really are that the saddle is not quite as good quality, and the gear system is not quite as good. But other than that, there really isn't that much difference!
Much the same as the Trailglide 1W, the frame is ALUXX alloy making it lightweight and meaning it will absorb a lot of the road shock.  The RST Capa forks with 80mm travel also absorb a lot of the shock, and are specifically designed for reasonably-mild mountain bike riding so you don't need to worry about taking this bike around some slightly crazy bike tracks - nothing too crazy though! And if that's not enough suspension for you, then there's also the suspension in the seat pillar. So as you can see, there's a lot of suspension on this bike, making it very comfortable to ride. The Alloy "V" brakes are a tried and trusted kind of braking system and the Shimano Tourney gear system is very reliable.

XDS 6 Speed Steel Ladies Bicycle

Price $349

This bike is designed to replicate the old traditional ladies bike, complete with guards and rack.I'm sure you will agree, the XDS Ladies bike looks great. It has a classic ladies bike appearance.
It only has 6 gears, and they are simple to use.
The advantages of this system, are that the bike can have a fully enclosed chain guard to prevent harm to your clothing, and you can change gears easily, but the range is limited if you planned to ride in really hilly areas. For most ladies 6 gears are more than adequate, as they don't tend to try to compete against their fellow riders. They are simplicity itself, and the shift action is as light so there is minimal strength required to change gears. Of course the bike comes with colour co-ordinated chain guard, and a lovely chrome plated carrier (with a sprung top to hold your goods).
There is a rear stand so that you can park the bike easily without damage, and of course it comes with a good quality cane basket, which can be removed when you arrive at your destination (maybe a picnic lunch and bottle of bubbly?)

XDS Ladies Retro Bike Ivory

Price $349

Retro Bike Ladies Xds Ivory.

Imagine riding a bike that is simple to use, easy to mount and very comfortable. All that and it looks great.

Xds produce a huge range of ladies retro bikes. They are a huge Chinese factory producing millions of bikes per year, yet little known in Australia so far. This will change.

They produce a range of quality bikes, from the cheaper steel bikes to beautifully finished aluminium bikes. Because the Chinese are used to building this style of bike, the bikes they offer are reliable and very inexpensive, excellent value for money compared to most retro bikes.

The bikes come with a simple 7 speed gear system, comfortable leather look saddle, mudguards carrier and a full chainguard to keep your clothes clean and well protected.

The front cane basket (yes, genuine cane basket) can be lifted out and carried while shopping, then simply placed back in its carrier for the ride home. Very practical.

XDS Ladies Retro Bike Blue

Price $349

Retro Bike Ladies Xds Blue.

Easy to mount, because of the low step through height, this bike really is reminiscent of the ladies bikes of the past.

The main difference being that it is also very functional. The brakes work really well. allowing you to stop in an instant. The gear system is really easy to use, sure it only has 7 gears, but most riding doesn't require more than that. If you are planning to go on a 100km bike ride, this is certainly not the ultimate bike, but if you simply want a bike that you can go for a ride with the kids, maybe go to the local shops for bread and milk (if you still drink it), then this bike is an excellent choice. But be prepared to be asked where you got that bike, as it is likely to be a bit of a talking point.

The bike itself has a steel frame, aluminium mudguards, aluminium wheels and Shimano gears. Simplicity is the keypoint. The basket lifts out for practicality, the handlebar position allows for a relatively upright riding position, and the gears are very simple to operate. Overall this is a fun bike to ride, and lets be honest, it is a real bargain at the price.

2010 Giant Cypress 3W.
(Bike only available in M)

The retail price was $499, on special at $329.2011 Giant Cypress 3W Ladies Hybrid

As one of the most popular bikes in our range of Hybrid/Comfort bikes, the Cypress 3W has a lot of great features to offer, at a very affordable price.
As with the other hybrid bikes, it has the ALUXX alloy comfort frame, made to absorb shocks from the road. The suspension has been upgraded from last year's to the RST (Rapid Suspension Technology) Sofi forks with 50mm travel. This suspension is made for fitness purposes and for riding around built-up areas on paths or roads. The travel is typically set at 50mm (distance of compression in forks), which is less than the Cypress 2W, but the travel can be adjusted. The Shimano Altus/Tourney gear systemprovides reliable and precise shifting with minimal effort on the part of the rider. And, of course, the brakes are Alloy "V" brakes.  Reinforced rims add to the strength of the bike and the suspension seat post (as well at the suspension in the forks) adds to the comfortableness. This bike is probably the cheapest model you will find in our standard hybrid range that still has the front suspension. It really is a wonderful, reliable and comfy bike. After you ride it, you will be able to see why this model is so popular!

GIANT ALAMODE CRS CITY LADIES

Price: $399 | Sale Price: $329Alamode CRS City Ladies Hybrid Bike

Much like it's brother - the Alamode CRS 1.0 - this bike has comfy seats and a cushy saddle for your "toosh" on those bike rides. Whether you are a frequent rider or someone who pulls it out of the garage every now and then on a nice sunny day, this is a great bike for cruising around the bike paths of Melbourne. The frame is Alloy making it nice and light.
PLUS! The Alamode CRS City is fitted with mudguards and a rear carrier which both come in very handy in Melbourne particularly (you never know when it's going to rain and you need those mudguards...)

2011 Giant Cypress 4W.

The price is $329.2011 Giant Cypress 4W Ladies Hybrid Bike

The Cypress 4W was designed for women who want to cruise around the bike-paths of Melbourne. The frame is very lightweight (ALUXX formed alloy), it has fast-rolling wheels and an upright riding position. The Shimano Altus/Tourney gear system is a great gear system that is found on a lot of other hybrid bikes. The set is noted for it's reliability and efficiency. Plus the suspension seat post and cushy saddle add extra comfort to the bike.
Notice that the forks are on quite a slant compared the other similar bikes with front suspension? The slant is designed to make the bike more of a cruiser. The longer wheel base (distance from the centre of one wheel to the centre of the other) helps the frame to absorb the shock of the bumps in the road. The steering a tiny bit slower so you don't want to do anything too outrageous on this bike. But if you are just planning on cruising around the bike paths, then this is all you really need. And at less than $400, how could you go wrong?

2011 Giant Via S W Single Speed.

Price was $399, Now $2992011 Giant Via S W Single Speed

New to the Giant range, the Via S W is a stellar example of a bike that is "no-fuss comfort". As a single speed bike, you don't have to worry about changing gears or fixing gears or anything like that. So it's literally as simple as  getting on and starting pedalling. The bike has been fitted out so that it's more of a comfort bike than a single speed road bike. Giant have put extra work into making sure that the ladies bike looks gorgeous and is very easy to ride.
The rims are sturdy with a double wall inside for extra strength, it has caliper brakes which are used on a lot of modern racing bikes, and it comes with a chain cover (to protect your clothing and body parts from the chain), fenders and a front carry basket. All those last features are made specifically for this bike so they look good and match the colour scheme. The handlebars are shaped to provide a comfortable, upright riding position so you can cruise along the streets in comfort AND style.
