2012 Giant Trailglide 1 Hybrid Mountain Bike

The Giant Trail Glide is a bicycle built for comfort. The bike is based on a mountain bike, but fitted with tyres that have less rolling resistance, so it is easier to push. The front suspension gives a comfortable ride, as it irons out most of the bumps and vibrations. The saddle sits on a supension seat pillar, which has a compact suspension unit built into the post, again to remove the shock from any potholes (or gutters if you must).

The saddle itself is a delight. It has a spring base supporting a gel cushion, then covered in a well shaped soft fabric to prevent chafing. Giant have gone to a great deal of trouble to ensure your cycling comfort. The bike itself is simple to operate, with a Shimano gear system that changes gear easily and accurately. If you wish it can be simply left in a gear range that you find easy, there is no need to use the gears if preferred. If you prefer to use the gear system, it has a wide range so it will comfortably keep pace with the traffic or climb the steepest of hills, there is a gear to suit vertually any terrain. The brakes have a light action and the bike can be stopped with minimal pressure, it really is a case of using just one or two fingers to stop the bike.

The whole bike has been designed with ease of use as a priority. The appearance of the bike is great. The paint finish is called "Diamond Tough" and is the same process used on some BMW cars. It is extremely durable and resists chipping, but also retains its new appearance for several years. It does not get that old look about it after a few months out in the weather. As most of the fittings are aluminium or stainless steel, nether of which will rust, again the bike looks great for longer.Well, there you have it, if you like the sound of this bike, you should come and have a free test ride, to see whether you would like to buy one.

Giant Trailglide 1

The Trailglide range is a great go-anywhere bike for the person looking to easily convert from city riding to rugged trail riding. With front and seat post suspension, a comfortable upright riding position, the Trailglide 1 is a bike that can be pulled out on the weekends for any type of casual riding. This model has Shimano components, comfortable saddle and ergo grips with 26 inch wheels and mountain bike gearing, really making it easily transfer from city riding to bike paths.
While it is certainly not designed as a serious off-road bike, it can be taken off-road for a recreational jaunt, and you can have heaps of fun on it. It will go almost anywhere the more serious bikes go, just a bit slower. It is a great recreation bike.

Here you're looking at a mountain bike that has been made with the features of a comfort bike. It is ideal for those close to a bike track that has gravel sections or if you don't want to be limited to riding on bike tracks, but would like to ride in comfort. The frame is an ALUXX alloy comfort mountain bike frame which is engineered to absorb road shock before it hits you, and keep the weight to a minimum. The forks have suspension - RST (Rapid Speed Technology) Capa forks with 80mm travel. The Capa forks are made for off road riding along the mountain trails which contains some smaller obstacles and bumps. The travel is just the measurement of how far the suspension compresses. This bike has an adjustable head stem which means you can adjust the riding position to more upright (better for people who suffer from back or neck problems), or a more horizontal, aerodynamic position. The seat pillar has suspension for extra protection from nasty bumps where it matters. The gears are Shimano Alivio/Altus/Tourney (designed for off-road recreational riding) and Alloy V brakes for reliable braking. So overall, the Trailglide is a bike that is suitable for off-road (nothing too crazy though), but ideal for bike paths and roads. If you're not sure where you are going to be riding exactly, or you know the terrain changes in different parts of your ride, I would strongly recommend looking at this bike. The benefits are fantastic.
