Pro BMX riders Rob Wise and Dave Dillewaard are both big guys. Rob is 6'2" and Dave 6'5" and yet they both earn a living thrashing around on the GT La Chiva, entertaining crowds and winning competitions with some of the slickest riding ever seen. Have a look at www.youtube.com/watch to see what I mean.
Of course Rob and Dave don't pay for their bikes, and the La Chiva is normally priced a bit above what most riders would prefer to spend, but at our discounted price of $549, it is now a bike anybody can smash out some wicked moves on. Cool. |

The frame has cro moly main tubes, so can withstand some pretty rough treatment. The Kenda KaRolla2.1" front and rear tires are purported to be well-suited to the street and skate environments, which will allow riders who are getting more advanced to land their tricks. The Tektro aluminium caliper front brake and the Tektro FX340R "U" aluminium rear brake give the rider control over quick stops when they are needed. This is a key feature for riding in the street environment. The GT Performer comes equipped with GT Wing shroom design grips, a rotor and one set of pegs. |

However, there are many features here that are useful to any biker. The frame is high tensile steel, and quite robust, though not really suited for a heavy aggressive rider. The GT Air Bag tires that come stock on this model allow the biker to pull tricks in a variety of environments. The handlebars on the GT Zone have a 7.5" rise designed to perform on both dirt and street. The GT Jump design pedals would need upgrading for a heavier rider, but will be fine for a lighter rider.
