Was $3,999, now just $2,299.

GT GTR Carbon Expert 2011 Road Bike

For a bike to cost $4000, you would expect it to be of pretty decent quality. To be full carbon. To have Ultegra components. To have a good wheelset. To ride and handle like a serious bike should. To be "race ready" as they say. And the GT Carbon Expert is all this.........................................except for the price.

The Gt Carbon Expert is usually priced at a reasonable $3999, but we currently have them on sale for just $2799! Which is a whopping $1200 off! That is a discount of 30% which is not usually possible, but it is end of season. Both GT and ouselves need to make space for the deliveries of 2012 bikes which will soon start arriving. Current and older model bikes just have to go and the most efficient way to do this is by slashing the price. Everyone loves a bargain and not too many people will turn their nose up at a saving like this. Stock as of the start of November is pretty good with all sizes available so drop in or give us a call to secure your next new bike.

The Carbon Expert is as the name implies, made from carbon fibre as is the front fork and the seat post. As a result, weight is minimised and ride comfort is maximised. Two very appealing attributes. With internal cable routing and a stunning appearance the Experts clean lines will please even the most fastidious officianados. This is a bike that outlooks and outperforms and outprices all its competition.

GT GTR Series 1 Ultegra Road Bike 2011.

Was $2,599, now $1,599!

GT GTR Series 1 Ultegra Road Bike 2011

Not many things in life can be guaranteed 100%. But at a sale price of just $1799 we can absolutely guarantee that these Ultegra 6700 equipped GTR 1 road bikes will sell pretty fast!

With sizes from small to extra large, there is no reason anyone who is quick off the mark should miss out on this outstanding deal. We do have limited stock though, so be prepared to consider something else iof your size is gone.

Even though the Shimano Ultegra 6700 ensemble is what will attract most buyers, the real heart of the GTR 1 is the superb hydroformed alloy frame. Hydroforming allows the designers and engineers to use shapes which enhabce the ride quality and rigidity while at the same time reducing tubing wall thickness, with the result being a lighter weight better performing bike, and who doesn't like the sound of that! Coupled to this lovely frame is a pair of carbon fibre forks which feature a tapered carbon fibre steerer tube which will lighten the weight even further, enhance the ride and ensure steering precision.

Now we can talk of the Ultegra components, the Mavic Aksium sealed bearing wheelset, the powerful, lightweight dual pivot brakes, the Ritchey handlebars and seat post, the Fizik saddle, all the bits that convert a great frame into a great bike. There is nothing of an inferior quality fitted anywhere on this bike and the buyer can comfortably expect many years of trouble free riding.

With rider comfort as a priority, the frame has carbon fibre seat stays, front forks and seat post which absorb a lot of road vibration, leaving the rider less fatigued. Fitted with a SRAM Rival groupset, Mavic Aksium Race wheels and accessories from Ritchey, Vittoria, San Marco and Tektro, the Series 1 is a seriously good bike at the now crazy price of $1499! Everyone loves a bargain! And if it happens to be last years model? Who cares! In many instances there is no great difference from one year to the next, except perhaps with regard to the price. As the prime sales season has ended the distributors of GT bikes have cut the price of any previous seasons stock to clear their warehouse for the coming season. At Ivanhoe Cycles we pass this saving on, helping GT to clear some stock and helping you to a bargain. Some of the coolest looking bikes come from the American company, GT. Stylish paint jobs highlighting interestingly shaped frame tubing producing a result that shouts quality even on lower to mid specced bikes. The GTR 3 is a prime example of a bike that looks expensive, even though it comes in at only $899.

Fitted with an 18 speed Shimano Tiagra gear set and other quality mid range components, the GTR 3 is the type of bike suitable to the keen recreational rider who is out on the road a few days a week and who may do some of the bigger mass partcipation rides such as the Alpine Classic, Whittlesea Challenge or any other "fun" events where completing the course is challenge enough.

Gt GTR Series 3 Tiagra 2010

The Gtr 3 is an aluminium framed road bike designed for riders who are entering into road riding, but cannot afford or justify spending a few thousand dollars. The frame is Kinesis 6061 butted tubing. So it is made of high quality tubing. This frame is hydro formed with ovalized tubing to maximize performance. The forks are GT carbon, made to absorb road shock, and make the bike more enjoyable to ride. The combination of butted alloy with carbon forks, produces a very competitive bike for such a low price point. When this is combined with Shimano Tiagra running gear and high quality Alex rims, you end up with an excellent bike, that not only looks great, but is competitive with bikes of a much higher price. We only have small sizes left, so if you are 160-175cm tall, come and have a test ride and see for yourself. Great looking bike isn't it?

GT GTR 3 Tiagra 2009

Unfortunately riders at both ends of the regular size spectrum usually end up with a smaller number of bikes to choose from than those in the "average" height range. We realise the difficulty a lot of these riders have finding a road bike and we are constantly on the look out for a bikes to assist these riders. A bike exactly like the GT Series 3, is what we were after for those cyclists who are closer to jockey proportions rather than basketballer, and although the GT Series 3 is not a bike that we regularly stock, it is one that we were thankful to find as it's quality, weight and appearance, combined with a heavily reduced price means it is a good buy for those in the $1000 or under price range. A lightweight alloy frame with carbon forks and a Shimano Tiagra ensemble backed by our 12 months of free servicing will see you confidently enjoying many years of pleasant riding.

The GT GTR Series 4 represents midlevel road cycling at a bargain price. The GTR series has always been about offering great value road bikes to those looking to get into the sport, with reliable gearing and comfort to match. The GTR 4 is the base model in the range and yet still features a carbon fork for a softer ride, a lightweight hydroformed alloy frame and relaible easy to use Shimano gearing. Having purchased the last of the 2011 stock from GT we are able to offer these great looking bikes for the super low price of only $699. Medium and large sizes are available, so if you are one of the majority who is in this size range, drop in for a look or a test ride.

The stylish aluminium frame used on the GTR 4 is a key point in just how great a bargain this bike is as it is the same frame as used in the GTR 1 which has a recommended retail price of $2599. A quick inspection of the frame will reveal many intricate shapes rather than the conventional round tubing of many frames. These shapes have been carefully selected to provide additional strength, which has the bonus of permitting less material to be used. The obvious benefits are that the bike is both lighter and stronger..........the perfect combination of attributes sought by all manufacturers and riders. The previously mentioned carbon fibre front forks are the icing on the cake, further helping with weight minimisation and adding to ride comfort thanks to the inherent nature of carbon fibre that it absorbs road vibration and dampens road shock.

Fitted to this great "chassis" is a range of economical and yet reliable components from recognised manufacturers such as Shimano, FSA, Formula GT and Vittoria. All things considered this is a pretty sweet ride for not a lot of money. Similar in price to an average mountain bike or hybrid and yet so much lighter and faster, they really will sell quickly.
