2012 Giant Anthem 1 Women's Mountain Bike

CLIMB STEEP TRAILS WITH POWER AND GRACE. DESCEND WITH NEW CONFIDENCE. ANTHEM X W, THE MASTER OF ALL XC.

This quote is straight out of the Giant manual, but I thought it was worth including as power and grace are 2 traits all of us would love to be able to display. Most of us suffer on hills and if there is a chance a particular bike can help aleviate the hardship, then "ka ching" sign me up!

Having reached the summit however is where many riders greatest difficulty begins. They can get up the hill OK, it's just that they are ....scared of going down the other side. It is in that final thought before plunging over the crest that Anthem X owners can be thankful that they have the tool that has rid them of the terrors of descending. Be thankful for the new found ability to descend at a pace quite a bit quicker than walking. Happily aware of not only an ability but also of a confidence to descend. Sure a sense of self preservation still kicks in, but that old frustration and fear is gone, hanging on the garage wall back home with their old bike.

They say that "it's not about the destination, it's about the journey", and with an Anthem X1 W ladies of all experience levels will have the opportunity to realise a similar conclusion. Enjoy the journey.

2012 Giant Trance X1 Women's Mountain Bike

Price was $2499, now just $2199!

2012 Giant Trance 1 Women's Mountain Bike

The Giant Trance X1 W is unlikely to be your first MTB, but it just may be your last. Even relatively inexperienced riders will marvel at the ease in which it tackles so many varied terrains and riding conditions. It won't make an expert out of a novice, but it will instill a new level of confidence into riders who have previously been a little wary once wheels started slip sliding or the going got rough.

With suspension at both front and rear and each with 5" of travel, the Trance X1 W is so comfortable, encouraging the rider to explore new ground and to tackle surfaces and terrains that would have previously been avoided.

This is a bike the more competitive woman could take to a weekend race or overnight marathon, but it is so forgiving even the casual rider will benefit from the combination of features so cleverly moulded into this female specific package.

Ladies Giant Talon 1w 2012

The Giant Talon 1W is the top in the range of recreational front suspension mountain bikes for 2012. And with good reason! If you love mountain biking and you're looking for a bike that can most pretty much any terrain and do it brilliantly, you really don't need to look any further. Let me explain.

The Giant Talon 1 has an ALUXX SL Sport formed alloy frame with integrated gusset. The ALUXX alloy frame is a technology designed by Giant to make the frame lighter, make the steering sharper, and add stability and strength to the frame. And the integrated headset mainly adds aesthetic appeal to the frame.  The forks are Rockshox XC 30 TK 100mm. The Rockshox forks are of a quality that you would normally find on a bike over the $2000 mark, but these forks have been made available to riders in the more recreational level. PopLoc is another feature that would only be found on the higher-end bikes, but once again, has been made available to riders in the recreational category. PopLoc is a system whereby you can just push a knob on the handlebars (just near the gears) and it locks out the suspension in the forks. This is very handy when riding up hills and other such terrain, as the suspension can absorb a lot of the power from your pedalling. Then once at the top of the hill, you simply turn the suspension off again! Other bikes in the slightly lower price range have lockout, but they do not have PopLoc so it means they have to bend down to the forks and turn the knob by hand if they want the suspension off - which as you can imagine, while you are riding a high speeds, this isn't really too workable.

The drivetrain is Shimano Alivio/Deore/Acera. These three components add up to a bike that, while remaining in the lower price bracket, is equipped to handle a large variety of riding, and do it well. On top of all of that, there is also Avid Elixir 1 hydraulic brakes!
The Talon 1W really is a wonderful option for anyone who loves mountain bike riding, but doesn't want to spend thousands... but you still get all the fancy components on this baby!

2012 Giant Talon 2W

Price is $649

2012 Giant Talon 2 Women's Mountain Bike

The Giant Talon 2 Womens represents all that is great about the growing market for women's mountain bikes in Australia. Women no longer have to scrounge for options when looking for a bike capable of doing more than just riding around town, or resigning themselves to hours in the saddle on a bike designed with the fellas in mind.

The Giant Talon 2 W is a mountain bike designed for women looking to explore the trails with confidence, speed and comfort. The superlight alloy frame makes the bike an attractive option for those keen of having a bike that they can achieve good speeds with, while the Rock Shox XC 100mm travel fork makes tackling those rougher sections of the trail a breeze. Add to this the full Shimano Altus gearing, and mechanical disc brakes and you have a machine that is functional and practical, without breaking the budget.

Lastly, what makes this bike a diamond in the rough for women searching for a moutain bike is those subtle changes to the mens model that make it female friendly. A low slung frame makes getting on and off the bike simple, while the shortened top tube length accomodates those with longer legs, who would otherwise be stretched out uncomfortably on a traditional unisex frame. The saddle (shorter and wider) and the handlebars (narrower) simply add to the comfort, and when conpared to non female specific models, the advantages quickly become apparent.

Available in sizes to suit almost all female riders, simply call us on 03 9499 5209 to organise your test ride today!

Price $549

2012 Giant Boulder 1 Women's Mountain Bike

Alright ladies, if you're already into mountain biking or have already had a cheapy for a while and need an upgrade or if you are more of a fan of mountain-biking rather than just riding around on roads in the city or something, the Boulder 1 would be an excellent model to pick for your next bike. The frame is made of aluminium alloy which makes it light weight, easy to pedal, easy to lift when necessary and also means it won't rust if left in the weather. The front suspension forks have 100mm of travel (the distance of the compression in the forks) which will absorb the bumps in the road nicely giving you a soft and comfortable ride. The Boulder 1 also has disc brakes for reliable and effective braking giving that bit of extra confidence especially on wet days. The Boulder 1 W also has a very comy women's MTB saddle which we all find to be a nice no frills bonus. The colour scheme looks cool (no over the top girly patterns or anything) with the silver base colour with blue and black detailing. All this, and it's still under $600! Come and test ride one today.

2011 Giant Boulder 4W.

The price is $329.2011 Giant Boulder 4W Ladies gry

This is the cheapest mountain bike you can get in the 2011 adult range. There's no suspension in the front forks, but other than that, it has pretty much the same features as the Boulder 3 (next one up!). This model still has the alloy frame, Alloy "V" brakes for efficient braking and of course, the comfort saddle. It's a very simple bike with a 21 speed gear system. Plus the colour schemes look pretty funky!

So if you just want a cheap, good-quality mountain bike, this is definitely one to come and test ride!
